Early Childhood Education at HPS

Hingham Public Schools offers exceptional early childhood education programming for children ages 3-5, with half-day, full-day, and extended-day options.

We operate two tuition-based programs, each with a sliding scale:

1. Integrated Preschool & Pre-K

2. Kids in Action (KIA) Preschool & Pre-K

Integrated Preschool and Pre-K

This program provides early childhood education for both special education and general education students to learn and thrive together.

• Location: Foster Elementary (starting Fall 2025)

Programs Offered:

• 3-year-olds: 5 Half Days

  • 8:30-11:30am

• 4-year-olds: 4 Full Days, 1 Half Day (Wednesdays)

  • 8:30-2:00pm M/T/Th/F,

    Wed. 8:30-11:30am

Kids in Action (KIA) Preschool and Pre-K

KIA offers both traditional and Spanish immersion programs, designed to meet the diverse needs of families.

• Location: East Elementary (starting Fall 2025)

Programs Offered:

• 3-year-olds (Traditional Preschool): 5 Full Days

  • 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM

• 4-year-olds (Traditional Pre-K): 5 Full Days

  • 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM

• 4-year-olds (Spanish Immersion Pre-K): 5 Full Days

  • 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM

Extended Day

Location: East and Foster

• Before School: Monday-Friday | 7:00-8:30am

• After School: Monday-Friday | 2:00-6:00pm

  • No after school for 3 year old 5 half day
