Learning Mode Transition Request

Students who have opted for full remote learning during the 2020-2021 school year are welcome to return to in-person learning at any time.  Additionally, students whose families have chosen to homeschool them for the 2020-2021 school year are also welcome to return to in-person or remote learning at any time.

Please complete the form below to request a transition from fully remote or homeschool to in-person learning or remote for the duration of the 2020-2021 school year.

As you complete this form, the administration of Hingham Public Schools wants to make you aware of several key considerations that must be taken into account as your request is processed:

1. The building administration will need time to process your request, examine in-person (full or hybrid) class sizes, and determine whether the request can be accommodated (given the class size, cohort size, and/or specific schedule of the student).  
2. Re-enrollment decisions will be made on a rolling basis.  A request to change learning modes is due by Friday of any given week. All requests received by Friday, will be reviewed the following week with first possible enrollment the week after that.  Please click below to review the decision making timeline.
3. While every possible effort will be made to keep remote students in the classroom of their assigned teachers, some scheduling or placement adjustments may need to be made. These decisions would be based on the class size, cohort size, and/or specific schedule of the student.
