Recess and Lunch
Free School MealsThe State of MA has guaranteed access to free school meals for all students. However, families will still need to establish lunch accounts for the upcoming year if they wish to add funds (using http://schoolcafe.com/) to cover lunch purchases beyond what is allotted (1 breakfast & 1 lunch, not including extra beverages or a la carte options). Payment by check is also available (made out to HPS Food Services, student name in the memo line).

Health & Safety
Student Health InformationPlease be sure that we have your child’s updated physical and/or health information. Reach out to our school nurse, Callie Shanahan: cshanahan@hinghamschools.org.
AbsencesIf your child is not feeling well and will be missing school, please email
eastattendance@hinghamschools.org.
Nut Allergy PracticeStudents with nut allergies have access to nut-free tables at lunch. In addition to these spaces, we ask students who have packed nut products for lunch to sit at designated tables within their class’s location in the lunchroom. We ask that all students in grades K-2 pack nut-free snacks each day.
Allergy Action Plans, Medication Forms, and other important informationPlease see the HPS Nursing Information & Resources: https://hinghamschools.org/programs/departments/nursing/.
Please note: The Town of Hingham has enacted new restrictions on the sale/distribution of single-use plastic water bottles, which will impact our ability to provide water bottles to students during lunch and other school activities. Please ensure that your child is bringing their own reusable water-bottle to school each day.
