The Hingham Public Schools Fine Arts Department and the Hingham High Drama Program are proud to present “Little Shop of Horrors” coming November 30th running through December 2nd.

HHS Drama Director, Mo Fish, shared that the popular production is one of the ten most produced musicals in American high schools. “The out-of-this-world science-fi storyline paired with an unlikely doo-wop score is a jackpot combination — and a favorite of musical theatre fans everywhere! With our talented cast and crew, a huge rotating set, and four spectacular Audrey II puppets, ranging from 12 inches to six feet tall, you really won’t want to miss this show!”

In “LITTLE SHOP,” an alien plant from outer space arrives during a solar eclipse, catching the eye of Seymour Krelborn (Ben Cavallo-Smith, ’25), the clerk at a local florist, who names it “Audrey II” after his crush and co-worker, Audrey (Ruby Blake, ’25). Audrey II thrives on human flesh, leading to a dark plan involving Audrey’s evil boyfriend, the sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello (Graeme Baker, ’27). Manipulated by the hungry plant and his greedy boss Mr. Mushnik (Griffin Blidner, ’27), Seymour strives for Audrey’s heart… with disastrous results.

The Audrey II plant is brought to life by five students, with Nicholas Roche (’25) as the voice and Saachi Menon (’26), Tommy Parker (’25), Mary Smock (’26), and Julian Williams (’25) as puppeteers. A dynamic Greek chorus of street urchins, led by Annie Daly (’26), Alexa Harris (’26), and Teresa Pikoulas (’24), narrates the story.

Fish adds, “While the plot is at times gruesome, its cartoon-esque juxtaposition with uptempo tunes and vivid puppetry reveal the heart of the piece: unchecked power and gilt-edged promises can corrupt even the purest heart; be thoughtful about who you listen to and why! And lastly – whatever you do – DON’T FEED THE PLANTS!”

Opening night is Thursday, November 30th at 7:00 PM in the Hingham Middle School Auditorium. There will be two more evening performances, Friday, December 1st, and Saturday, December 2nd, both at 7:00 PM.

All four performances will be held in the Hingham Middle School Auditorium. Tickets are available online now: https://www.onthestage.tickets/hingham-high-school
