Thursday, August 11, 2022 – The Hingham Public Schools is pleased to announce Amy Jackson as the new METCO Director.

Ms. Jackson recently served as METCO Director with the Melrose Public Schools and has held that position since 2019. Ms. Jackson’s main focus as METCO Director has been to build relationships with METCO students from the Boston area and facilitate the social, emotional, and academic success of students in the program. This comes from ensuring collaboration between parents, students, and the schools, assisting in academic remediation of students, and offering tutoring support to any struggling student.

Ms. Jackson also has experience writing and managing the METCO grant, organizing the student placement process, and organizing and managing the Melrose METCO Parent Advisory Board. In past roles, she has served as the Director of Family and Community Engagement in Randolph, METCO Academic Advisor in Brookline, and Family and Community Outreach Coordinator in Boston.  

Ms. Jackson’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Cambridge College and a Master of Education degree with a focus in Psychological Studies from Cambridge College.
