This past Monday, Dr. Margaret Adams announced her resignation as Superintendent of Schools. Today, the Hingham School Committee met and voted to appoint Kathryn (Katie) Roberts as the Acting Superintendent. This appointment will go into effect on Monday, August 19th, pending contract negotiations.

Kathryn Roberts, who currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent, has been a valued member of the Hingham Public Schools community for over 25 years. She began her career as a middle school science teacher and elementary science specialist before transitioning to the role of Curriculum Director and later Assistant Superintendent. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Northeastern University, Kathryn is also a Hingham resident and a proud parent of HPS students.

School Committee Chair Nes Correnti remarked, "Hingham is incredibly fortunate to have someone like Katie Roberts stepping into this role. Katie brings a wealth of experience, energy, and a proven track record of success. Her passion for education and her energetic leadership style will undoubtedly inspire both students and staff as we continue to strive for excellence.”

Kathryn Roberts shared, "I am honored to be considered for the role of Hingham’s Acting Superintendent and am dedicated to supporting students and staff during this period of transition. Our leadership team and staff are looking forward to welcoming students back to campus and we are committed to ensuring a smooth start to the school year."
