Michael Page in the house! ☀️☁️🙌
Michael Page, a local Channel 5 meteorologist and Hingham local, recently visited Foster Elementary 3rd graders to explain hurricanes, high and low pressure, jet streams, the technical definition of a blizzard (not what we all thought!) and types of clouds. It all reinforced what students learned in their science and weather units this fall and we all walked away with new knowledge.
Huge shoutout to the Foster PTO @foster_pto_02043 for making this fantastic learning experience possible for our students! 👏

Schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 20th, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our veterans at the 11th Annual Military & Veterans Appreciation Night! Local veterans were invited and honored during the evening, which featured the Hingham Police Colorguard, a powerful National Anthem performance, and guest speakers. Proceeds from the event went to the Town of Hingham Department of Veteran Services Benefit Fund. The Harbormen celebrated the night with a 43-23 win over Whitman Hanson!

Budget meetings for Hingham Public Schools begin on January 13 and are open to the public for in-person or virtual attendance via Zoom. For meeting locations and Zoom links, visit hinghamschools.org/page/meetings.

Hingham Middle School just kicked off a 6-week session of Unified Intramurals! Unified Sports gives all students the chance to succeed on the field, connect with peers, and build stronger ties within our school community. Each week, students will enjoy a new game: soccer, basketball, floor hockey, and diamond sports.
Want to learn more about Unified Intramurals? Reach out to Meghan Melanson, Physical Education teacher, at Hingham Middle School. Email: mmelanson@hinghamschools.org.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Harborwomen will travel to the TD Garden on Saturday (1/11) at 10AM to face Hull in the Andrew Lawson Invitational. Tickets are still available. Contact Maryellen Holler for tickets at mholler@hinghamschools.org @harborwomenhoop

Adelia Day 2025 🦋 Today, January 7, marks the inaugural Adelia the Wondergirl Day, proclaimed by the Hingham Selectboard to honor Adelia Szklut, a beloved second grader who passed away after battling a rare form of brain cancer. The day featured classroom kindness activities, locker affirmations, and “Buzz Awards” recognizing acts of kindness. As South School and the Hingham community honor her legacy, we encourage everyone to mark January 7th with a special act of kindness.🩵

It’s a big day for Foster’s Finest! ⚓ Students and staff were welcomed into the brand new Foster building today marking the next chapter for Hingham Public Schools. This incredible project wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of passionate committee members, town and school officials, the PTO, community groups, staff members, families, residents, and the greater community who supported it every step of the way.

Congratulations to the winners of Hingham’s annual Patriots Pen essay contest! 🎉
Students from Hingham Middle School and Hingham High School were celebrated earlier this month at VFW Post 6053 for their thoughtful and inspiring essays on "My Voice in American Democracy."
The Patriot’s Pen contest gives students a chance to reflect on what American democracy means to them and how they see their role in shaping its future. Amazing work to everyone who participated!
