We are thrilled to announce that Erica Pollard, current K-12 World Language Curriculum Director, has been appointed as the Interim Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Hingham Public Schools. This position will fulfill the responsibilities of Assistant Superintendent on an interim basis following Kathryn Roberts’ appointment as Acting Superintendent.
Throughout the past few years, in addition to serving in her primary role of K-12 World Language Director, Pollard has taken on many additional district responsibilities, including serving on the strategic planning committee, leading the district’s ELL program, and laying the groundwork for the upcoming Portrait of a Graduate initiative.
“I am grateful that Erica has accepted the position for this interim year, and know that she will hit the ground running,” shared Kathryn Roberts, Acting Superintendent.
Pollard earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Brown University with a major in Education Policy. She also holds a Master’s in Chinese language pedagogy from Middlebury College and a CAGS in Education Leadership from American International College. Pollard has been with HPS for 18 years, initially serving as a high school teacher in the Social Studies and World Language Departments, and later transitioning to K-12 World Language Curriculum Director.
