Former Foster Faculty

Hingham, MA, May 24, 2024 – On Thursday, May 23, 2024, several current Foster School staff members hosted a Foster Farewell Tour for former Foster faculty and staff, giving them the opportunity to say goodbye to their old school before it is torn down and replaced. Over 30 retired teachers returned to Foster, revisiting cherished memories through old photo albums and reminiscing with former colleagues.

Current staff members Courtney Stevenson, Laura Murphy, Paul Riser, Christopher Davidson, Monica Matthews, and Elizabeth Curran led guided tours of the building, where many of the retirees spent over 30 years teaching and working as paraprofessionals. The retirees reflected on their time at Foster as they walked through the familiar hallways.

Many of these former staff members had not seen each other in years, making the chance to reminisce and reconnect a wonderful experience. The current staff looks forward to welcoming them back for another tour when the new Foster School opens later in 2024.

“It was an emotional afternoon seeing so many teachers and paras from when I started at Foster. It truly warmed my heart to have everyone together at Foster again.” — Courtney Stevenson, current third grade teacher

“So cool to see all of them; it really brought me back to a different era. I miss that era!” — Chris Davidson, current phys. ed. Teacher

“The retirees loved it! So nice seeing them back in the building.” — Laura Murphy, current second grade teacher
