Hingham Middle School went all out for Pink Day! 🎀 Every October, the HMS Ambassador Club hosts their annual ‘Pink Day’ to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, students and staff rallied together to raise an incredible $2,200, which will be donated to the Ellie Fund. Way to go, HMS!

Today, we celebrate the heroes behind the scenes! On Custodian Appreciation Day, we shine a light on the tireless dedication of our incredible custodial team. While we go about our day, they work behind the scenes, ensuring our school buildings and grounds remain clean, safe, and welcoming for our entire school community. Thank you for everything you do!

While students had their first half day of the school year, our teachers participated in professional development led by Dr. Jessica Minahan, co-author of The Behavior Code.
Dr. Minahan’s presentation focused on strategies for supporting students with anxiety, oppositional behavior, and executive functioning challenges. The approach outlined in The Behavior Code offers a systematic way to identify the causes of these behaviors and apply proven techniques to help students succeed.
Educators left with practical, research-based strategies they can use to transform the classroom experience for students facing behavioral and emotional challenges.

Award-winning author Christina Soontornvat visited Hingham Middle School today for an exciting discussion about her book, A Wish in the Dark, selected as the One Book, One School summer read!
Several classes enjoyed her captivating talk, followed by a book signing during lunch.

Reminder: School starts tomorrow, September 4, for grades 1-12 (Kindergarten on Sept 5, and Preschool/Pre-K on Sept 9)! With the new school year, expect increased traffic, and let’s work together to keep everyone safe. ✅ Stop when school bus lights are flashing. ✅ Obey speed limits in school zones and avoid using cell phones. ✅ Yield to pedestrians at crosswalks. ✅ Follow crossing guards' instructions. ✅ Use sidewalks when available.
