This weekend, Christina O'Connor, HHS Social Studies teacher, Deirdre Anderson, Hingham Historical Society Executive Director, and Andy Hoey, K-12 Social Studies Director, presented at the National Council for the Social Studies annual conference in Boston.
Their presentation, Partnering with Your Local Historical Society: Student Engagement and Historical Thinking, explored how collaboration can bring history to life for students.
We're fortunate to have such a strong historical society in Hingham, making it easy to connect students with local history in meaningful ways.

LET’S GO HINGHAM! ⚽
Mrs. Lucas’ Kindergarteners at East Elementary are showing their support of our Boys Soccer team as they take on Oliver Ames in their first-ever State Championship game tomorrow at 12:30 PM at Worcester State. See you there! 😤

The Second Annual Hingham Unified vs. Hingham Police Basketball Game will be played this Thursday night at 6:30pm at Hingham High School. All donations collected will support our HHS Unified Program. See you there!

After this week, all grade 10 health students will be certified in CPR through the American Heart Association. They’ve mastered CPR for adults, children, and infants, learned to relieve choking, and how to use an AED during cardiac emergencies. Congratulations to all for gaining these life-saving skills!

Today, we honor our courageous and selfless veterans for their bravery and sacrifices they have made in service to our country. 🇺🇸♥️
On Friday, South Elementary 5th graders led a memorable Veteran’s Day celebration. The event began with a procession of veterans, proudly led by the Hingham Militia group, followed by an all-school assembly where students and staff gathered to express their gratitude.
We are deeply thankful for all veterans - those who have served, those who currently serve, and those who are no longer with us. Thank you for your dedication and service.

Breathe in, and breathe OUT. Last week, Hingham High School students took a refreshing break from their regular classes to participate in Get Out with Breathe Out Day, hosted by the Breathe Out Club, a student-led initiative that promotes mental health awareness and self-care. The club is advised by adjustment counselors Kevin Lalli and Jessica Hoguet.
This event focuses on the vital connection between outdoor activities, exercise, and self-care. Students enjoyed sports, creative activities, and relaxation in the great outdoors.
