Speech and Language at HMS

What does Speech and Language Look Like in Middle School?

There are so many changes that happen as students enter Middle School. With that in mind, Middle School Speech and Language services look a lot different as well! We continue to work on Language Comprehension, Language Expression, Executive Functions, Social Language skills, Fluency and Articulation, however most of our work focuses on using these skills as they relate to classroom work. Our ultimate goal is for students to build the skills they will need for lifelong learning, and in order to do that, they must begin to take ownership of the skills and strategies that they have learned and begin to apply them into their daily work.
